FAQS

Our Commitment to You

You'll want to know how we make sure your order gets to you in perfect condition and at a convenient time - this is what we do.

Meat Cut to Order

Here, at "The Great Tasting Meat Company", we cut all meat to order. Although we endeavour to supply you with the weights you ordered, there may be a slight difference in the actual weight that is delivered.

We will charge you at the point of despatch for the actual weight that is being delivered.

Fixing a convenient time

As soon as we receive notification of your order, we send you a 'thank you' email. This will ackowledge your order.
We prepare and despatch orders on a Tuesday and Wednesday and they will arrive the following day any time up to 5pm.
We will let you know when your order will be delivered, if you have a preference, let us know.
If you have a safe place to leave your order, tell us in your reply email and we'll give these instructions to the courier. This means you don't have to wait in for the delivery to arrive.

Keeping the meat fresh during transit
  • Each of the individual cuts of meat you order is vacuum-packed. This means it’s wrapped in a strong plastic bag which has had all the air removed, greatly extending the life of the meat.

  • The individual packs are then placed in an insulated case with a number of chill packs inside. The case works like a Thermos flask - it keeps the meat cool.

  • The case is taped up, and clearly labelled with your name and address and any instructions you give us. It is then picked up by the courier on the day your order is made up.

  • The next day (within 24 hours) your order will be with you. If you put the packs straight in the fridge as soon as you've opened the case, the meat will be fine. It doesn't matter if it is a few hours before you can open the case after delivery, as the temperature inside will still be low enough to keep the meat fresh.

  • You can keep the meat sealed in its vacuum pack until you want to use it - just keep it in the fridge. The 'best before' dates are clearly shown on each individual pack.
What do I do with the case?

We ask you to recycle the packaging.

Can I freeze the meat?

Yes, it okay to freeze the meat we send out, but make sure you do this on the day you receive it - don't wait until the 'best before' date. Then follow the usual procedure for handling home-frozen meat.

What happens if something goes wrong?

Firstly, we're sure it won't! We've worked really hard to make sure the system works properly, and if we don't get the delivery right, there's no chance of meeting our mission of bringing you the best meat you'll ever taste - in your life!

But if you're not happy with any aspect of your order, then the first thing we ask you to do is let us know - call us on 01270 625781 or send an email to
andrew@greattastingmeat.co.uk. We'll work hard to put things right. If this means sending out another order, then we'll do that at our cost.

If we can't put things right to your satisfaction, then we'll refund the cost of the whole order - it's as simple as that. We don't like the thought of unhappy customers.
